Unit 8:Photography for digital media products

  1. Analyse work of professional photographers
  2. Research, plan, consider legal/ethical issues and then take creative photos
  3. Edit, organise, produce a portfolio of an evaluate photos
Serious reportage- proper news which deals with serious issues that have significant consequences (genres include crime, politics, education, business) Dealt with in a serious tone by journalists

General interest- less significant news, often more popular with mass audiences (genre include sports, arts and culture (music, TV, Film, celebrity gossip). Often dealt with in a more relaxed, light hearted tone.

Timing- news stories are time sensitive (ASAP) featured stories aren't time dependant

Style- news story is content rather than form. News go straight to the point, using simple and effective words to deliver the facts quickly they average between 300 and 500 words

Featured stories are often more wordy and have a creative structure. 1000 words+
