  • Setting up an interview:

  • Find a good location- it needs to be silent
  • Get "too much" content you can edit it down

  • Nothing encourages a listener to hit the unsubscribe button more than avoidable and annoying sound quality issues.
  • Most participants in discussions about sound quality agreed that quality sound is really important
  • Some of the biggest audio complaints involved interviews. Skype calls that cut in and out and volume levels were the two biggest complaints.
  • Skype calls cut in and out because of poor Wi-Fi connections. An easy solution is to use an ethernet cord and hardwire your computer and router, at least for the duration of the call.
  • Talk so quiet that they have to strain to hear you, then after they turn up the volume switch to your very loud guest who shouts in their ear.
  • In the same vein, random burst of excessive laughter or any yelling or loud bursts are equally annoying. Another issue is music or ads that aren’t adjusted to appropriate sound levels or don’t fade or transition well.

CORONAVIRUS COULD KILL US ALL? The death toll for the coronavirus in China has now reached over 100.  With more than 4,500 infections confirmed, Chinese authorities have ordered the construction of a new hospital in just 10 days. The outbreak started in Wuhan, eastern China. “The whole place looks like ruins,” one person said of the city after it was put under quarantine, with authorities fearful that it could spread, potentially reaching epidemic levels.  There is a confirmation that the virus has infected more than 4,500 people.
